Yacht Race Report

(Amatory in foreground, with Scamander to the right and Pegasus in the background.)

Four yachts took part in today's race. Steve Patch and family joined the regular fleet in Scamander (his Vega) and trounced us all by screaming round the course by flying his huge spinnaker in 25 knots of breeze while the rest of us skulked under white sails.

Dave Murray and crew in  Mhojo crossed the line first, followed by Rob Teago and Chris Ward in Amatory, then the Patches in Scamander followed by Doug Angus and crew on Pegasus.

On handicap the results were 1st Scamander, 2nd Amatory, 3rd Mhojo and 4th Pegasus.

Celebrations in the club house heard Dave Murray again muttering something about handicaps and pocket calculators but soon smiles were all around as the red wine flowed and tales of "MacVitie Slammers" filled the air.
